The Origin Story
Bishop Arts Massage
When I first discovered my love of massage therapy, I wanted to bring my style of bodywork to the neighborhood that I have come to love so much. To create a space that feels comfortable, relaxing, and conducive to the person who needs some tension worked out, to the person who just wants to relax and unwind. I have accomplished that with Bishop Arts Massage, or, BAM
Style
From the moment you walk in, you won't feel rushed, or like you're just another client. Immediately upon entering you will be greeted with hot and cold beverage options, photos of local places, and a community board. That's just the waiting area. Every service is allotted enough time before and after to have conversation and follow up in the multipurpose room which is decorated with art, local and commercial. You will have time to discuss what your goals are for therapy. To go into detail about where you have areas that need addressed or improvement on. After your service in the massage room, we can go over any stretches or movements you can do at home to build strength, or improve function. I have a results centered approach whether your goal is getting major work done through deep tissue, sports, therapeutic massage or cupping, or if you'd just like to relax with a Swedish massage and some aromatherapy. So many massage places I've been to feel like an in and out and I want to create a more luxury space that's still accessible. Where you are the focus and you feel improved every session.
Neighborhood
I fell in love with Bishop Arts District in 2017 when I started working at The Local Oak. It would be four years after that before I moved to Oak Cliff. It was then that I found my home, my tribe, my neighborhood and my community. I try to give back as much as I can and in any way and I want the same thing for Bishop Arts Massage. Whether donating services for local non-profits like I have in the past, or just having a space where local businesses can promote their services or products. Especially small women owned businesses like my own.
My love for both Oak Cliff and Bishop Arts will be obvious from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave. My hope is that every person that walks through my doors will feel welcomed, relaxed and leave feeling better, not just from the service but from the experience.
